2012 Community Policing Project Unveiled
Lake County Crime Stoppers, Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (LCMEG), and Clear Channel Oudoor have partnered once again to create a new billboard with a triple focus this year. This is the ninth in a series of Billboards to promote public awareness. The Billboard is located on the Northeast Corner of Washington and West Streets, Waukegan, Illinois. This location is highly desirable due to it’s proximity to the county buildings and courthouse. This theme ties in with our other Community Policing and Crime Prevention Awareness programs put together throughout the year that are presented by Law Enforcement Agencies of Lake County.
The Billboard's message shows two of the most prevalent crimes facing our communities. The billboard depicts the way an individual on cocaine uses a rolled-up dollar bill to sniff the illegal drug.
On our streets today, approximately Six of Ten children are solicited for Illegal Drugs, in and around the surrounding areas of the Billboard.
This is a call out to Parents, Educators and Concerned Citizens whereas to, BE AWARE, PROTECT OUR CHILDREN, GET INVOLVED, REMAIN ANONYMOUS.

This program is a collaboration of Lake County Crime Stoppers, Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (LCMEG) and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Roycealee J. Wood, Regional Superintendent of Lake County Schools assists in the distribution of various Gun Stopper Posters and other information to the Schools after she reviews the information for its merit and noteworthiness for the schools of Lake County, Illinois.
